Maybe the proximity to Thanksgiving has me thinking about this or maybe I'm hungry but either way, I want to talk about cranberries. For a couple of years we really struggled with our dog getting urinary tract infections. Like clock work we would go on a camping trip and our beloved Mojo would have blood in his urine. Being the fur mom that I am, I would panic and find the nearest vet (or drive all the way back to my primary vet) to get Mojo care.
After seeing the same vet a couple of times, she suggested that I consider putting Mojo on Cranandin, an over the counter product by Nutramax. Figuring it couldn't hurt, I ordered some from, you guessed it, Amazon. I followed the instructions on the bottle and here we are more than 2 years later and not a single urinary tract or bladder infection since. We did switch to a different brand - Coco Luna Urinary Tract- after about year and have continued to have the same success. It doesn't smell as nice, but Mojo gladly takes his pill without any additional coaxing.
This may not work for everyone but I wanted to share our story. As always consult your veterinarian before starting or stopping any medications or supplements.
